Salmon Coast Field Station
Salmon Coast Field Station has been monitoring the relationship between sea lice, wild juvenile salmon and salmon farms for over 20 years.
It represents the longest continuous data-set in the world related to sea lice levels on juvenile salmon near salmon farms, and has inspired other sea lice monitoring programs on the BC coast.
We created a sea lice sampling training video for future research assistants, ensuring they knew what to expect and were well prepared when joining Salmon Coast. Our focus was on clearly documenting the sea lice sampling process from start to finish. Along the way, we were also fortunate to capture footage of local wildlife, including Steller sea lions, humpback whales, and bald eagles.
